Maw Sit Sit is an unusual and rare gemstone.  Its vibrant green color is caused by the several minerals it is comprised of, all highly chromium rich. It is a 6 - 6 1/2 hardness on the Mohs scale. 
It is found exclusively north of Myanmar (formerly Burma). It’s named after a small village at the foothills of the Himalaya Mountains.
